BOURBON - Dallas Manuel, 70, of Bourbon, died at 12:25 a.m. Jan. 18, 2010, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, after an illness.

He was born Jan. 4, 1940, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Edward L. and Polly Anna Adams Manuel. On Aug. 27, 1961, he married Leora Baldridge, who died May 24, 1994.

He was a resident of the Bourbon area since 1966. He was a graduate of Prestonsburg High School and received an associate's degree from Mayo Technical School. He retired from Monaco Coach as a welder.

Surviving are four daughters: Anita Haines and Patricia Manuel, all of Bourbon; Jeanette (and spouse Terry) Holbrook, Warsaw; and Dalana Gale Varela, Plymouth; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and three brothers, John (and spouse Patty) Manuel and Robert Manuel, all of Warsaw, and Sammy (and spouse Linda) Manuel, Tippecanoe. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, with Pastor Terry Bradford and the Rev. Bob Haywood officiating. Burial will be in Tippecanoe Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
