MILFORD — Dale R. Stump, 91, Milford, passed away Dec. 13, 2016, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Milford. He was born Oct. 27, 1925, in Nappanee, to Clayton and Hazel Defreese Stump. He graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1943 and went on to honorably serve his country in the U.S. Navy. He married Glennis Orn on June 17, 1944, in San Jose, Calif. He was a retired carpenter and mason and a lifetime member of the American Legion in Milford. He will be missed by his wife of 72 years, Glennis Stump, Milford; a son, Stanley O (spouse Natalie) Stump, Milford; 10 grandchildren: Danielle Stump, Dale Stump III, Dylan Stump, Alexis Stump, Wency Jackson, Michaela Stump, Michael Stump, DJ Stump, David (spouse Tammy) Stump and Doug Stump; three nephews: Rodney (spouse Mary Beth) Stump, Mark (spouse Rhonda) Stump and Clark (spouse Kay) Stump; and a niece, Judy (spouse John) Kurtz. He was preceded by two sons, Dale “Rick” Stump Jr. and Dennis Stump; a daughter-in-law, Betty Stump; and a brother, Donald Stump. A funeral service with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Milford.
