DENVER, Ind. – Curtis L. Mills, 57, Macy, went home to be with his Heavenly Father April 7, 2015, at his residence. He was born June 25, 1957, in Rochester, to Leroy Jr. and Margaret L. Zartman Mills. On July 3, 1993, God brought together in marriage Curt with the former Barbara Crist, who survives in Macy. He graduated from North Miami Junior Senior High School in 1975. Throughout his high school career, he was very active with the FFA, where he served as chapter president and was a member of numerous judging teams. While attending the National FFA Poultry Contest in Kansas City, he was one of five high-scoring individuals, who received a trophy for their talents. He graduated from Lincoln Tech, having studied diesel mechanics. He worked alongside his father and brother on the family farm. He was a member of Denver Baptist Church, where he was the chief deacon and frequently volunteered his time and skills. He was also a first responder with the Denver Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting his daughter and grandchildren in Oregon and doing missionary work. He is also famous in his family for providing the Zartman family lunch sticks and his own special Oyster dressing. He was an amazing husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. His love of life, sense of humor and family leadership will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. He also is survived by a daughter, Myranda (and spouse Jimmie) Kruschinska, Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Linda Mills and Jan (and spouse Jim) Pike, all of Indianapolis; one brother, Kent (and spouse Sharon) Mills, Denver; two darling grandchildren, Samara and Acer Kruschinska; his father- and mother-in-law, James E. and Janice K. Crist, Silver Lake; and several nieces and nephews. He as preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Denver Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Earle officiating.
