A Cromwell woman was taken to a South Bend hospital by Samaritan for her injuries after a two-vehicle crash Saturday.
The accident occurred at 11:51 a.m. Saturday at the T-intersection of U.S. 33 and CR 33 in Elkhart County.
According to an Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office crash report, Juanita Magallanes, 68, Cromwell, was traveling east in a 2008 Dodge Caliber on U.S. 33 toward the intersection with CR 33.
A 2017 Acura RDX, driven by Patricia Price, 81, North Port, Fla., was stopped at the intersection and then pulled out to make a left turn onto U.S. 33 and was hit by the Dodge Caliber.
Price was taken to Goshen Hospital via ambulance for head and neck pain, according to the report.
Magallanes was taken by Samaritan to South Bend Memorial Hospital for head and neck pain and possible numbness/loss of feeling to her legs.
Price was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way at the intersection causing bodily injury, the report states.
The Acura sustained heavy total front-end damage, while the Caliber sustained front-end damage.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash.
