A Cromwell woman is facing seven felony charges after she allegedly was busted dealing meth to undercover officers on multiple occasions.
Deborah K. McMahan, 60, of 9783 E. Chickadee Drive, Cromwell, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday and faces three Level 4 felony charges for dealing in methamphetamine; three Level 6 charges for possession of methamphetamine; maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed May 1 in Kosciusko Circuit Court, in February officers with the Kosciusko County Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET 43) conducted a controlled purchase for 3.85 grams of methamphetamine from William McMahan and Deborah McMahan. During the transaction, the undercover informant gave Deborah the money while William left the room to get the drugs, then Deborah handed the drugs to the informant.
Police again purchased methamphetamine from Deborah in March, totaling 4.33 grams, at the residence belonging to both her and William, according to the affidavit. A third drug deal in March resulted in the purchase of 4.33 more grams of methamphetamine from Deborah.
Through these controlled purchases, according to court papers, police were notified that the McMahans were expecting a large quantity of methamphetamine soon. Police executed a search warrant on the home in March and the McMahans, along with Regina Paluchniak, were located at the home.
Police found NET43 documented funds on William’s person, according to the affidavit, and William allegedly admitted that he and Deborah were selling methamphetamine together. Police also found methamphetamine, a glass pipe with burnt residue, a scale and multiple plastic bags in the home.
William McMahan, 69, of the same address, is facing a Level 4 felony charge of dealing in methamphetamine; a Level 6 felony charge of dealing in methamphetamine; possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
Paluchniak, 56, of the same address, is charged with maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony.
According to court papers in her case, police allege she was residing in the residence, present and witnessed the drug deals.
