A Warsaw man died Thursday afternoon when his car rear-ended a school bus.

Michael S. Goble, 25, was pronounced dead at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne from his injuries suffered in the crash.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies and emergency personnel responded at 4:09 p.m. Thursday to a school bus crash on Ind. 15 at Clearwater Drive involving a car.

The southbound 2012 Freightliner school bus and Goble’s 2002 Dodge Neon were traveling south. The Warsaw Community School Corporation bus had stopped in traffic to make a turn onto Clearwater Drive when Goble’s car rear-ended the bus, according to a news release from the KCSD.

The bus was driven by Amber R. Askren, 62, Warsaw.

Goble was unresponsive, pinned in his vehicle, and was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne, where he later died.

The bus driver and the 32 students on the bus did not report injuries at the scene.

Officers said the crash is still under investigation. The Kosciusko County Fatal Team was assisted at the scene by members of the Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Lutheran Air Ambulance, Leesburg Fire Department, Warsaw Police and the Indiana State Police.
