WINONA LAKE – A Sunday Night Community Hymnsing, free and open to all, will be held in the chapel of Grace Retirement Village in Winona Lake, on Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. with the prelude beginning at 5:45 p.m.
The theme of the evening will be “America’s Best-Loved Hymns” and hymn choices will be based on several recent polls of America’s favorite hymns. Guest soloist will be Joni Killian of the Huntington University music faculty and the evening will close with time for audience members to request their favorites.
The program will feature the artistry of Bill Schaffer and Rich Dick at the console of the Rodgers organ and the piano. Terry White and Howard Mayes will share leadership of the hymns.
These community hymnsings are held several times a year and are a joint effort of the Grace Village chapel and Winona Lake Grace Church. All who are interested in an informal hour of singing and worship are welcome to attend. The next event will be a Christmas carol sing Nov. 29.
