Combined Community Services Asks Community To Help Fill Backpacks

Posted

Combined Community Services (CCS) is once again inviting the community to come together through the Tools for School program, which is happening July 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lakeview Middle School.
This simple act of kindness makes a lasting impact, according to a news release from CCS. Community members can pick up a backpack from the CCS office during business hours, purchase the school supplies listed on the attached tag and return the filled backpack to CCS. The last day to return them is to bring them to Lakeview Middle School by July 28, from 9 a.m. to noon, during event set-up.
For many families, back-to-school shopping creates financial stress and difficult choices. By participating, you help ensure that local students walk into school in August with the supplies they need to learn, grow and feel confident alongside their peers. No child should feel singled out or unprepared because their family could not afford basic school supplies, the release states.
A backpack filled with notebooks, pencils, folders, and other essentials may seem small, but to a student, it can mean starting the year feeling ready, included and excited to learn, according to CCS.
Together, the community can help remove barriers for local students and give them the tools they need for a successful school year.
Backpacks are available now at the CCS office. If you have questions or if you would like to volunteer for the event on July 29, contact CCS at info@ccsgives.com. No time to shop? Financial gifts towards Tools for School are tax deductible and can be given online at ccsgives.com.
