Co-Founder Of American Huey 369 To Speak At Rotors Over Mentone

MENTONE - The program at Rotors over Mentone on Saturday at the Bell Aircraft Museum will feature John Walker of American Huey 369.
Walker graduated from Peru High School in 1975 and graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in science-technology education.
From June 1979 to March 1986, Walker was in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a captain and helicopter pilot.
In 2005, Walker, his wife Kay and his brother founded American Huey 369. American Huey 369 Organization was formed for the specific purpose of preservation, education and paying tribute to all veterans/patriots.
In August 2021, ground was broken for the National American Huey History Museum. Two phases of fundraising are completed and the third one is under way. Construction is going strong, according to a news release from Rotors Over Mentone.
American Huey 369 will arrive at 10 a.m. Membership rides on the Huey will be available for a fee after lunch.
The program starts at 11 a.m. and will last approximately a hour.
Rides also will be offered by Cleveland Helicopter Service: $50 cash each for two people or $55 credit card. Single person is $70 cash or $75 credit card. He will offer rides from 10 to 11 a.m. and resume after the program.
Food, drinks and Igloo Ice cream will be available.
The Bell Aircraft Museum is located at 210 S. Oak St., Mentone.
