Daughters Of The American Revolution Met July 28
The Agnes Pruyn Chapman Chapter of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution met on July 28 at Salvatori’s Restaurant, Warsaw.
The Lily Center of Lakes and Stream, a division of Grace College, gave their presentation on who they are and what they do. Emily Anderson and college intern Abigail highlighted their three pillars: research, education and collaboration.
The opening ritual, pledge of allegiance, preamble and American creed were led by Regent Kathy Gawthrop. Gawthrop also read the present general’s message. The national defense report was by Sally DeWald.
The new member oath was given to Sally DeWald and she was welcomed to the chapter. Janice Cox, treasurer, gave the financial reported. The audit committee reported the treasurer’s book passed the recent audit. The DAR Good Citizen Committee will now be chaired by Christy Adams and Shirley Smith will be the new Volunteer Information Specialist chair.
The Freedom Fest/Kosciusko County Fair and Pierceton’s Stars, Stripes and 250 Candles parades were a success. The Adrian Anglin Revolutionary War Soldier plaque committee is continuing to collect funds. A possible location for the America Patriot 250 plaque was discussed by Shirley Smith. The bylaws committee is planning to have the new bylaws available by the September meeting.
Maureen Mauzy, Jennifer Simpson and Smith attended the northeast DAR District Meeting on July 18 in Huntington. Preschool/elementary books were purchased and donated at the district meeting from the chapter.
The next three-year term of officers will be elected in April 2027. Members need to review the officers’ duties on the website. Offices to be filled are regent, vice regent, treasurer, registrar and secretary. DAR Day of Service is Oct. 11.
The next meeting will be at Salvatori’s Restaurant in Warsaw Aug. 25 at noon.
Any woman 18 years or older who can prove and provide documentation of lineal, bloodline decent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join DAR. Wednesday Bridge Played
Wednesday Night Bridge Group met at Grace Village on Wednesday.
The winners were John Wagley, Ann Thallemer, Jerry Metz, Judy Stewart and Nancy Witt.

Bridge Was Played At SPEC
NORTH WEBSTER – Bridge was played at SPEC at the North Webster Community Center.
On Tuesday, Jane Eyler came in first and Janet Petro came in second.
On Thursday, Jean Cowan came in first and Mike Wyrick came in second.
