COLUMBIA CITY – Clinton Brown Jr., 69, of Columbia City, died at 2:55 p.m. Jan. 24, 2012, in Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

He was born Jan. 8, 1943, in Memphis, Tenn., to Clinton and Melissa Laird Brown.

He began his work career in the construction trade and later became a machinist for Hoof Products,  Chicago. In 1990, he moved to Winona Lake and worked at Walmart, Warsaw, until retiring in 1997, following a heart attack.

In 2007 he moved to Arizona. After a few years, he returned to the area, most recently living in Columbia City.

Surviving are two sons, John (and spouse Christina) Brown, Columbia City, and Clinton Brown III, Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Almeda (and spouse Frank) Tasker, Chicago, Ill., and Mildred Shegog, Memphis; and a brother, Donald Brown, Memphis. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eddie Williams and Arlene Brown, and three brothers, Ronald, Morris and George Brown.

No services or calling are planned.
