CLAYPOOL - At Tuesday night's meeting the Claypool Town Council approved a contract with Commonwealth Engineers ahead of the developing wastewater treatment plant project.
The council also approved a quote with Fancil Welding in Warsaw for repairs on the town's dump truck. The repairs, which Council President Benny Stage said will be between $1,500 and $1,800, are to fix the rusted-out frame so the bed can again be lifted.
Ben Adams of Commonwealth Engineers provided an update on possible United States Department of Agriculture rural development grant funding. The project should be bid out by 2024.
The council held a public hearing ahead of the regular meeting to take questions on the 2024 budget. The budget totals $275,768 with a general fund of $192,542, motor vehicle highway $31,000, local road and street $14,500, cemetery $6,000 and cumulative capital development $1,000.
Budget adoption will be at the October meeting.
