Claypool Lions Purchase Freezer For Food Pantry

CLAYPOOL – The Claypool Lions recently purchased a freezer to be used at the Claypool Care’s Food Pantry.
The Claypool Lions have donated food weekly for one and a half years. They have used some of the proceeds from their fish and tenderloin fries. Many of the patrons have placed money in the donation jar at the fries, according to a provided news release. This money was used to purchase meat prior to the pantry qualifying for the food bank.
The Front Porch Ministries, which is a cooperative of small town churches in three different states saw there was a need in the southern part of Kosciusko County. They wanted to see the people not only survive but thrive. They found a building for sale downtown Claypool purchased it, opened the doors in November 2023 with a help of other food pantries, stated the release.
The Claypool Lions soon came on board, a few organizations and local people donate items to the pantry. The pantry has now qualified to purchase at the Milford food bank. 100% of the monies donated stay’s in the Claypool Care’s Food Pantry for food and utilities. The pantry is open on Thursdays 10 a.m. to noon and from 5 to 6 p.m. It is at 111 S. Main St., Claypool.
