Claypool Gains Reserve OfficerCLAYPOOL - At Tuesday night's meeting, the Claypool Town Council saw the swearing-in of a police officer and a demonstration of the town's automated CPR technology.
Town Marshal Ben Sanders swore in Dalis Owens who, along with Matthew Wynn, was sworn in at last month's meeting, joins the department as a reserve deputy. Owens previously was working with the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office.
Fire Chief Rick Hurley and Assistant Fire Chief Tommy Stutzman demonstrated the AutoPulse device on a training mannequin. Hurley said the AutoPulse, used by both fire and police departments, delivers quality and consistent CPR to patients 18 and older, many in cardiac arrest.
In new business, the Council approved ordinances for 2022 holiday observations and salary increases of 2% for town employees.
Through a resolution, Clerk-Treasurer Pat Warner was authorized to make end-of-year appropriations transfers within funds to balance accounts.
Sanders reported 170 calls for service and 44.7 reserve hours for the month.
