The Board of Works approved a contract for Kosciusko County Farmer’s Market LLC Friday.
Mayor Joe Thallemer said he brought the contract in front of the Warsaw Common Council on Dec. 6, and it was approved. Now, Thallemer said he was ready to bring it front of the BOW Friday.
The 2022 agreement for $5,000 allows the farmer’s market to hold its event on the concrete along Center Street between Lake and Buffalo streets.
The farmer’s market will be held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from May 7 to Oct. 29.
In other business, the Board of Works:
• Approved an annual maintenance agreement for the elevator located at City Hall with American Elevator Inc. for $2,507.
• Approved an agreement with BIT Computers Inc. for $10,000 a month and a total of $120,000 to perform services for the city of Warsaw, including develop and maintain IT asset management for the city and maintain and protect the city’s IT infrastructure, including management, maintenance, health and data surveillance and automation of tasks.
• Approved an application for Fast Cab Inc. to operate taxicabs in the city of Warsaw.
• Approved a pay application for Right Of Way Services for $5,955 for bike/pedestrian facilities on Sheridan Street, East Clark Street and East Fort Wayne Street between Colfax and Cook streets. City Planner Justin Taylor said all the services have been rendered and the payment approved Friday should be one of the last for that portion of the project.
• Approved four utility easements needed for the installation of the rerouted McKinley storm sewer across the town of Winona Lake and the Village at Winona properties.
• Approved an amendment for the McKinley storm sewer for $21,500. According to documents provided at the meeting, a change of the scope of work for the storm sewer project will result in additional work that was not included in the original contract. The McKinley storm sewer relocation project was orignally planned to go into the proposed Indiana Department of Transportation outfall into Winona Lake. Due to project timing, the outfall will need to be designed and constructed independently. The ammendment includes surveying, design and permitting of the new outfall and abandonment of the existing outfall.
• Approved a bid from Insight Pipe Contracting LLC for $397,349.50 for the sanitary sewer rehabilitation project.
