Miller To Present Message
MENTONE – Mentone United Methodist Church invites the community to join them on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. Pastor Dana Miller will present the message, “The King of Glory.” The scripture is Psalm 24.
The church will host the soup kitchen at Warsaw Trinity UMC on Market Street on Aug. 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All are welcome at Mentone United Methodist Church. They offer an early bird adult Sunday school class at 9 a.m. before worship service at 10:15 a.m. They are at 116 E. Main St., Mentone.

To Hold Lakeside Service
AKRON – There's a communitywide men's Bible study group meeting on Saturday mornings at Egg Town Coffee (formerly Java Jacks) in Mentone. Men from several area churches are participating and all are welcome. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and the study starts at 9 a.m.
On Sunday, worship at Beaver Dam Community Church, 9798 W. CR 1000S, Akron, is at 8 a.m. at the Beaver Dam Lake boat launch (if raining a cancellation call will be made by 7:30 a.m.) or at 9:30 a.m. at church with coffee and refreshments served from 9 to 9:30 a.m.
On Tuesday, the BDW meeting is at 9 a.m.
On Saturday, the Wheels on Fire Cancer Crusaders "Smash Out Cancer" event is at the Akron Community Center from 4 to 9 p.m. Live entertainment, food for purchase, live auction and pie auction with a memorial lighting ceremony complete the evening.
Burket Bible To Hold Services
BURKET – Burket Bible Church welcomes everyone to its services. Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. and worship is at 10:15 a.m. The message this week by Pastor Mark Eastway is "Learn Wisdom" from Proverbs 2:1-8. Eastway will provide music.
There is a men's community Bible study each Saturday at Egg Town Coffee in Mentone. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and study starts at 9 a.m. The women's Bible study will meet Saturday at 9 a.m. at Egg Town Coffee.
Praise practice is Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Claypool UMC To Hold Worship
CLAYPOOL – Time to get back in routine for worship at Claypool United Methodist Church, 105 S. Church St., Claypool.
The doors open at 9 a.m. on Sunday. There is Bible studies for all ages that begin at 9:30 a.m. with fellowship at 10:10 a.m. They gather in the sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. There will be songs of prayers and praise. The children gather with Pastor Diane Quance for kids chat before they go to kids church during the sermon.
“Pressing On” is the series for August and on Sunday, they are at the starting gate ready to press on. Quance will be speaking from Philippians 2:5 where Paul speaks of Having the same attitude as Christ had. If you’re unable to join them, plan to watch on Facebook at Claypool UMC, Indiana.
The devotional group welcomes anyone to join them on Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The praise team has practice and planning at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Sunday school is at 9 a.m. Worship services are at 10:15 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The Wednesday prayer meeting is at 6 p.m. There is a men's breakfast is today at 8:30 a.m. at Don Pablo's. Pastor Joe Lloyd is preaching a series on 1 and 2 Kings, and leading a study on the Ten Commandments during Sunday school.
