Beaver Dam Community Church
To Hold Events This Week
AKRON – There's a communitywide men's Bible study group meeting on Saturday mornings at Egg Town Coffee (formerly Java Jacks) in Mentone. Men from several area churches are participating and all are welcome. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and the study starts at 9 a.m.
On Sunday, worship at Beaver Dam Community Church, 9798 W. CR 1000S, Akron, is at 9 a.m. and 10:31 a.m. with coffee refreshments served from 10 to 10:30 a.m. There will be February birthday recognition.
On Wednesday, women’s Bible study is at 9 a.m. The King’s Kids program is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It is open to potty-trained 3-year-olds to fifth grade.

Mentone UMC To Celebrate Lent
MENTONE – The community is invited to Mentone United Methodist Church on Sunday, the first Sunday of Lent, for worship at 10:15 a.m. Pastor Dana Miller will present the message, "Jesus Is Tested In The Wilderness." The scripture is Matthew 4:1-11.
Women’s Bible study meets on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m.
Feast & Fellowship is on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A casual light meal is provided along with fellowship, music, study and fun. All are welcome. Feast & Fellowship follows the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation school calendar.

Burket Bible To Hold Services
BURKET – Burket Bible Church welcomes everyone to its services. Sunday School starts at 9 a.m. and worship is at 10:15 a.m. The message this week by Donna Wright is "Living Prayer" from Jeremiah 31:34. Ron and Donna Wright will provide music.
There is a men's community Bible study each Saturday at Egg Town Coffee in Mentone. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and study starts at 9 a.m. The women's Bible study meets the second and fourth Saturdays at 9 a.m. at Egg Town Coffee.
Burket Lifewise classes are Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Praise practice is Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Ad Council will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m.

SPARC To Meet Today
CLAYPOOL – Excitement is bouncing in the doors as those attending SPARC enter at 4 p.m. for one and a half hour of snacks, song, stories and sports. When they are done they can join their parents at the Lions Club for a sandwich as the community meets to identify the goals for the growing of Claypool‘s future.
Saturday, the women of Claypool United Methodist Church will bring their baked goods to the Lions fish fry to be sold. Be sure to help them support their many mission projects. If you look around, you’ll see members of the church helping the Lions complete their fish fry.
Sunday is the first Sunday of Lent. This is a good time to start the habit of joining them for Bible study at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m. During the worship hour, they will sing hymns of praise and have prayers for our joys and concerns. Pastor Diane Quance’s sermon is titled “Lent is not a Spectator Sport.” She will be teaching from Matthew 4:1-11, helping the church to become the person God created each of them to be.

Banning Continues Sermon Series
ATWOOD – Atwood Otterbein Church Pastor David Banning continued his message series on “Celebrating Disciplines” Sunday by beginning a three-week look at “The Discipline of Study.” Stressing it starts with scripture, he added intentional study, when done right, provides not only knowledge but wisdom and engages both minds and hearts.
The public is invited to join the congregation on their journey toward growth and spiritual formation. Sunday service begins at 9:30 a.m. Come early for coffee and stay after for snacks with family and friends.
Sisterhood in Faith’s annual chili cookoff will be Feb. 28 in the Fellowship Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. Sign-up forms for prize-winning entries are available in Fellowship Hall or the church office. Prizes will be awarded for hottest, sweetest, most unique and best overall entries. Sample the different types for $5 (bottomless bowl); iced tea and coffee will be provided. Hot dogs will be available for $1. Brownies and cookies will also be available. All proceeds benefit the group’s local missions.

Pastor Joe Lloyd welcomes all to come out and learn of the healing power of Jesus found in the Book of Mark.
Bible study at Community Bible Church, 2947 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, will begin at 10:15 a.m. Sunday and continues at the 6 p.m. service.
