Child Support

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

I am trying to get our child support and visitation laws changed. Some of the issues I will be addressing are deadbeat parents, parents who leave the state to get out of support, custodial parents who refuse to give visitation but they still expect child support to be paid, and others. This is a serious problem in our state, and it needs to be fixed. I need letters from anyone who wants to see our system changed. These letters will be sent to all of our state's congressmen, the governor, first lady Daniels, the lieutenant governor, the Indiana Dept. of Child Services, the attorney general, and the Domestic Relations Committee. That's 20 people in all.

So far I have only received about 60 letters from all over Indiana. I am going to need a lot more to make this work. I urge you all to please write to me. You do not need to be affected by these issues to help. Anyone can see we have a serious problem within our child support division. There are a lot of people who desperately need help and they are not getting it. It is time to fix this problem.

You can send an e-mail to me at 79trm@comcast.net I would be happy to share some of my ideas and give you any information you need. Thank you.
