Charles Bernard Cavert

Charles Bernard Cavert passed in peace on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019. He and his wife, Lisa, shared 48 years of marriage.

He was born in Peru, Ind., Sept. 17, 1945. He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1963. He attended Manchester College, where he played football for two years before transferring to McPherson College, where he graduated with a bachelor of science in industrial arts. He later obtained his masters from Ball State University in 1973.

Charles was employed by Warsaw Community Schools for 35 years as an industrial arts instructor. He also worked in the sales department at Main Channel Marina for 28 years.

He enjoyed boating, skiing, riding his Harley and fishing with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a teacher, mentor, coach and friend.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Cilissa (Reid) Mellott and Ashley (Mark) Buuck; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. His funeral service will be Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel.

Private interment services will be held in Peoria Cemetery, Miami County.
