Editor, Times-Union: Conservatives should challenge liberals. If someone says it was wrong to invade Iraq, ask them if it was wrong to liberate women and allow them to finally be a part of the government. Was it wrong to eliminate a ruthless tyrant or would the people have been better off living in terror? The fragile democracy in Iraq may fail thanks to Obama. Does he believe it was wrong to bring Iraqis hope? Hillary Clinton thinks she deserves to be president. If she is relying on her bad track record as Secretary of State, her candidacy should be derailed. With the Clinton Foundation’s problems, could you trust her to do what is best for Americans or what is best for big money contributors and nations that hate America? Many liberals oppose the death penalty for criminals, but support the death penalty for innocent fetuses. Is it right to sustain the life of someone who inflicts the death penalty on his victims and wrong to prevent the extermination of a life in the womb? Even the Fifth Amendment says a person can be deprived of life (executed) if there is due process of law. If I said Obama has ruined the economy and a liberal tells me that is a racist remark, I would have to ask him if Jimmy Carter is black since he ruined our economy when he was president. I must remind liberals that one of their heroes, Woodrow Wilson, thought “Birth of a Nation” which glorified the KKK, was the greatest movie ever made. He also allowed blacks to be lynched by Southern Democrats whose grandparents often owned the grandparents of their victims. When Ted Kennedy was a senator he said he supported public education. Yet he sent his children to private schools he didn’t want to allow deserving minority students to attend. When his assistant told me Ted would never allow the endangered species act to be violated, I pointed out that four firefighters died because water couldn’t be drawn from a river due to an endangered fish. Liberals need to be challenged. They’re often bullies that rely on intimidation to win arguments. If one doesn’t have logic to support them, they often depend on their ignorance of their audiences to accept their arguments. We’ve been afflicted by liberal policies for decades and this nation may not recover. Liberals should be forced to admit their mistakes and that of other liberals and not allowed to compound their mistakes. This nation and future generations will be much worse off if liberals are allowed to succeed and are not challenged by those who can expose them as failures. Rick Badman Warsaw
