CC Sectional Winner Kissling Is AOW While Warsaw boys cross country coach Jim Mills says there’s nothing fancy about him, Tiger junior Jacob Kissling went about his business Saturday in winning the Culver Academies Sectional and being tabbed the Times-Union Athlete of the Week for Oct. 7-12.
Kissling covered the course at Culver Academies in 16:44 to outrace Tiger teammate Sam Leichlitner. Five Warsaw runners finished in the top 10 at the sectional, allowing the Tigers to run away from Plymouth for the title.
“You just gotta love that kid (Kissling) because he just gets the job done, there’s nothing fancy about him,” Mills told Times-Union correspondent Dale Hubler. “Like I said last week (after winning the Northern Lakes Conference meet) he just drags the rest of the guys around the course.”
Kissling and his Tiger teammates return to Culver Academies Saturday for the regional race.
