Catherine Sue Abbitt, 49, of 205 6th St., Winona Lake, died at 11:15 p.m. Aug. 31, 2010, in her residence.
She was born June 23, 1961, in Goshen, to Russell Keith and Peggy Sue Tice Brown. On June 18, 1983, in Nappanee, she married Tom Abbitt, who survives.
She graduated from Goshen High School in 1979, and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Grace College, Winona Lake, in 1983. She was a third-grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary School, Warsaw, where she worked since 1997. A resident of Kosciusko County for the past 21 years, she was a member of Community Grace Brethren Church, Warsaw.
Also surviving are two sons, Nathan (and spouse Jamie) Abbitt and Matthew Abbitt, all of Winona Lake; a daughter, Amy Abbitt, Winona Lake; a brother, Dave (and spouse Lynn) Brown, Goshen; and two sisters, Kim (and spouse Greg) Binkerd, Warsaw, and Ellen (and spouse Mark) Beer, New Paris. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Community Grace Brethren Church, Warsaw, with Pastor Tim Clothier officiating.
No calling is planned.
