NAPPANEE – Carole Lee Hoffer, 78, of Nappanee, died at 2:51 p.m. June 9, 2011, in Elkhart General Hospital, from an unexpected illness. She was born Dec. 2, 1932, in Nappanee, to Claude and Stella Felton Heckaman. On Jan. 6, 1951, in Amboy, she married Frank Junior Hoffer, who survives. A lifetime area resident, she was a 1950 graduate of Nappanee High School and owned Carole Lee’s Collection for 10 years. Also surviving are two sons, Scott (and spouse Teresa) Hoffer, Nappanee, and Todd Hoffer, South Bend; a daughter, Roxy Mikel, Nappanee; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roger Heckaman, North Webster. Cremation will take place and there will be a memorial service at 4 p.m. June 20 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with Pastor Janet McFall-Brown officiating. ***** Memorials may be to Riley’s Hospital for Children.
