BOURBON — Carol E. Blue Young, 87, Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, in Miller’s Merry Manor Assisted Living, Plymouth.

Carol was born Jan. 31, 1930, in Marshall County, to Burl and Lois Price Becknell.

Carol married Myron Lee Blue; he preceded her in passing on Dec. 14, 1985.

Carol was blessed with two children: Cindy (Bill) Elmore, Rochester, and Rick (Connie) Blue, Warsaw; three grandchildren: Christy Weiss, Leslie Voreis and Nicole (Brian) Federer; and seven great-grandchildren: Hayden, Maxton, Declan, Tyler, Keaton, Kiley and Kelsi. Her sisters-in-law include Avonell Tracy, Sharon (Wayne) Fisher, Ludean Blue and Geri Becknell; and her brother is Joe Becknell.

On Oct. 10, 1986, Carol married Dale Young, who preceded her in passing on Feb. 27, 2017.

Dale’s children are Cynthia (Rodger) Paseka and Douglas (Risa) Young, all of Bourbon; he had six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Carol was a Bourbon post office rural route mail carrier for many years; she also worked for the Bourbon Elevator as their secretary. Her greatest joy was being a housewife and homemaker for her family. She very much loved her family!

She and Dale spent many winters in Lake Placid, Fla. Carol enjoyed euchre with her friends, writing letters and sending cards of encouragement to her family and friends.

Carol was a graduate of Bourbon High School. She attended Bourbon 1st United Methodist Church and The Country Church.

Preceding in death were her parents, husbands, and brothers Jim and Walt.

A funeral for Carol will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in The Country Church, 2601 9th Road, Bourbon, with Pastor Aaron Talbert officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bourbon.

A time of visiting with the Young family will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
