Carlyle L. Ginter, 90, died at 5:28 p.m. March 13, 2013, in Life Care Center, Rochester. He was born April 1, 1922, in Etna Green, to Minor and Flossie L. Huffman Ginter. On Jan. 4, 1942, in Whitley County, he married Zelpha Witmer, who survives. He was a 1940 graduate of North Webster High School. Living in Kosciusko County most of his life, he lived in Warsaw and wintered in Everglade City, Fla. He entered the U.S. Army Nov. 12, 1942, from Toledo, Ohio, and served during World War II with Battery B 400th Armored Field Artillery Battalion as a radar repairman. Tec3 Carlyle L. Ginter was honorably discharged Oct. 13, 1945, from Camp Atterbury. In 1950, he went into business for himself as owner and operator of Ginter Electric - Heating and Cooling, Warsaw, until his retirement in 1979. He turned over the business to son, Wayne, who continues its day to day operations. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Warsaw. His legacy is his concern for the salvation of others. He and Zelpha allowed themselves to be used by God to serve as missionaries to those who were in need - whether a meal or place to sleep. Their gift of hospitality was second to their deep desire to lead those they met in the Warsaw and Ever Glade City areas to Christ. He was available to fill pulpits when needed and worked often with the youth in these areas. He was a pilot and enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Also surviving are a son, Wayne (and spouse Jan) Ginter, Warsaw; a daughter, S. Anne Mason, Toledo, Ohio; four grandchildren: Josh Richard, Alabama; Mark (and spouse Andrea) Richard, Toledo, Ohio; Lynnae (and spouse Greg) Hall, Columbia City; and Rod Ginter, Bremen; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Patricia (and spouse David) Luckenbill, Warsaw, and Imogene Webb, South Bend. He was preceded in death by a son, infant Walden Ginter, and two brothers, Harold and Benjamin Ginter. Services will be at noon Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Jim Zaugg, Indianapolis. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery. Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home. ***** Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Warsaw, 2819 Patterson Road, Warsaw, IN 46582.
