Most of you already know Midas is a drop-off site for care packages for our troops that have been deployed. We have sent out several packages with the help of the UPS store here in Warsaw. We are having a car show with all proceeds going toward care packages on July 29 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Lake Village (Kmart) Shopping Center in front of the Armed Forces Recruiting Offices.
As we come closer to the date of our car show, I was beginning to get a little down with all the work involved in bringing this to fruition. Today's mail has made it all worthwhile.
I just wanted to share a letter I received from the chaplain of the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment currently deployed to Iraq. He writes as follows:
I know I'm late in writing back, and I'm sorry. Things have gotten a little "piled up" here. Anyhow, thank you and all those that gave items for the care packages. Everything you sent was very useful; we don't have any special requests that I know of. And I don't know of any Marines that aren't receiving mail. But thank you for the offer! Thanks, too, for your kind works on our behalf. We appreciate them very much.
God bless you all!
Fr. Charles W. Johnson
Thank you to our community for helping us send these items to our troops. By ourselves, we could never send as much. Thank you for your continued support in this endeavor. I'm very proud of our community.
Thanks again to everyone! May we be able to send many more packages.
