Beverly Sue MurphyAKRON – Beverly Sue Murphy, age 82, formerly of Akron, died on Nov. 9, 2022, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw at 8:27 p.m.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1940, in Warsaw, to Fred and Lavera Stockberger Horn. Beverly graduated from Mentone High School in 1958. She lived in the town of Akron for 56 years from 1960-2016. From 2017 to 2022, she lived at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw.
On April 22, 1960, she married Paul L. Murphy in Mentone. She worked as a bank teller for 30 years in Akron and retired from Wells Fargo Bank after 30 years of service.
Beverly was a member of the Silver Creek Church of God and of the organization Manitou Training Center of Rochester. She enjoyed watching IU basketball on TV, camping, singing and loved the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving Beverly are three sons: Jeffrey P. (Tami) Murphy, of Warsaw; Ryan L. (Becky) Murphy, of Rochester; Bryan D. (Tracy) Murphy, of Akron; two sisters: Shirley (Richard) Wine, of Warsaw; Leota Holloway, of Talma; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding Beverly in death are her parents; husband, Paul L. Murphy (1988); son, Troy E. Murphy (2021); several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 13 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron.
The funeral service will be on Monday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Silver Creek Church of God, County Line Road (West CR 1300S), Silver Lake. Officiating the service will be Rev. Randy Samuels with burial in the Silver Creek Cemetery.
