SYRACUSE - Betty Marie Barrett, 86, of North Manchester, and formerly of Warsaw, died at 8:43 p.m. July 27, 2008, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born May 6, 1922, in North Webster, to Stanley and Rachel Eberly Morehead. On June 20, 1948, she married Joseph M. Barrett, who survives.
A lifetime area resident, she was a former school teacher at Shipshewana Grade School and Boswell High School. She was a member of North Webster Church of the Brethren, Gideon's International Auxiliary and Women's Christian Temperance Union. She was a 1944 Manchester College graduate.
Also surviving are a daughter, Holly (and spouse John) Urschalitz, Warsaw; two sons, Allen J. (and spouse Margaret) Barrett, Leiters Ford, and Kerry (and spouse Denise) Barrett, North Webster; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, a grandchild and two sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at North Webster Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery - Mock Addition.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse.
