LEESBURG – Betty Jane Pemberton, 87, Leesburg, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 17, 2014, in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.
She was born April 12, 1927, in Winamac to Harvey and Dora Hall Yockey. She was married to William Harley Pemberton, who preceded her in death Aug. 20, 1993.
She graduated from Hammond High School. She was a homemaker and previously worked at Rand McNally in northwest Indiana and Amoco Refinery in Whiting. She had lived previously in the Merrillville and Hammond areas before moving to Leesburg on Oct. 20, 2007.
Surviving are two daughters, Ula (and spouse Rick) Gallegos, Lowell, and Debra Scott, Hessville; two sons, William Harley Pemberton III and David W. Pemberton, both of Leesburg; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosella Benham, La Plata, Mo. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Susan (Anderson) Manns; a granddaughter, Saundra Gallegos; and several brothers and sisters.
No public services are planned at this time.
Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, is in charge of all arrangements.
