PLYMOUTH - Betty Jane Burch Cushman, 82, formerly of Akron and Rochester, died July 17, 2008, in her residence.
She was born Jan. 12, 1926, in Fort Wayne, to Perry Earl and Sarah Catherine Trevey Burch. In 1947, she married Lawrence K. Cushman, who survives.
She graduated from Hammond High School in 1943, and entered nurses training at the Gary Methodist Hospital in the new U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps in September 1943, and graduated in 1946.
She moved to Plymouth from Muncie in 1964, and to Rumney in 1969.
She was active in the extension homemakers and later in the N.H. Circle of Home and Family, holding offices at local, county and state levels. In 1983, she was Mrs. Pugh in Manchester Palace theater production of "Annie".
Also surviving are a son, Perry Cushman, San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Nancy (and spouse Ralph) Matregrano, Leeds, Mass.; and a sister, Helen Wise, Claypool.
