Bernice M. Owens, 63, of Silver Lake, died at 5:13 a.m. April 7, 2010, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born Dec. 3, 1946, in Dingess, W.Va., to Carlos and Myrtle May Meade. On Nov. 29, 1979, in Claypool, she married Donald Owens, who survives.
Moving to Kosciusko County from Ohio in 1965, she was a homemaker.
Also surviving are three daughters: Berneda (and spouse Randy) Runkle, Claypool; Tonya (and spouse Lamont) Rhoades, Columbia City; and Tasha Owens, Clarksville, Tenn.; two sisters, Brookie (and spouse Glen) Williamson and Edna (and spouse Jim) Crist, all of Warsaw; a brother, Fred (and spouse Marty) Meade, Silver Lake; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with the Rev. Chad Burkhart officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
