Bent Leg Antique Marketplace Has 'Something For Everyone'Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting Thursday for Bent Leg Antique Marketplace, 1621 W. Lake St., Warsaw.
Owner Andrea Stavedahl said she opened the store in January. It was Saturdays only through mid-February, but then hours switched to full-time after that.
This is the first antique shop she’s owned, being in the furniture/interiors business growing up. She was working with the Kosciusko County Clerk’s Office just short of 15 years.
When her daughter went off to college, Stavedahl “found myself bored during winter” and was repurposing furniture. She started selling furniture on Facebook Marketplace. When locating furniture, she got into ceramics and glass and started selling those items on Etsy. Four years later, she opened up the antique store.
She said there is no commissions at Bent Leg Antique Marketplace. On her days off, and through the week, she locates products throughout the state through internet searches. She looks for anything that suites her eye that she could sell.
Bent Leg Antique Marketplace sells furniture, Northwood glass items, Indiana glass items, anything household that’s modern, old lamps, toys and metal signs.
“There’s something for everyone,” she said. She’s been told the prices at her store are reasonable and she agrees with that.
She also has an Etsy store called BentLegAntiques where items at the store are also sold. People can buy items at the store through the Etsy store. Stavedahl said her Etsy store is limited to U.S. shipping.
She hopes people enjoy themselves when they go to the antique store and find something new and different, saying there’s things in her store for gifts.
So far, feedback on the store has been positive and she has some regular customers.
Through Saturday, Bent Leg Antique Marketplace will be doing a daily drawing for a $50 gift card for the store. To win the drawing, people are asked to come in to the store and fill out a form with their name and phone number.
Hours are Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
