Editor, Times-Union: Could all people be empowered to think collectively about our Country, the UNITED STATES of America? I love the way Dr. Ben Carson thinks. Dr. Carson has a radically different American vision. He envisions our country as it was intended by the Founding Fathers. He believes citizens in civil society, and not the government and its multitude of agencies and bureaucrats, are the creative, dynamic force in society which is best suited to solve our problems. He recognizes our unity is our greatest asset, which is undermined by the imagined, or implied wars on women, race wars, age wars, and every other manner of class warfare. Now it seems we can’t even have a conversation without someone being offended by what was said. Dr. Carson believes people in businesses, academia, churches, and fraternal organizations can come together to create many civilly inspired programs such as a micro-lending program which was created by Nobel Prize-winning Muhammad Yunus who lifted millions of people out of poverty in Bangladesh. This talented neurosurgeon tells us that he has seen and worked on the brains of many people with variant ethnicity, nationality and background, and they look all alike. You are what you are from the inside out. Can you imagine the power of free people being empowered by free markets to responsibly realize their dreams? Dr. Carson thoroughly rejects the collection of big data by a progressive government bent on controlling citizens’ lives. He has a much higher regard for the good will and intelligence of the American people. Ben Carson explained this out on the campaign trail. “It was never intended government should be in every aspect of our lives. It was supposed to be here to facilitate life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The people were supposed to be in charge,” he said. Like yourself, Dr. Carson recognizes the world has been turned upside down, on its head, and he has proposed the radical solution of reviving the Constitution and living under what it was intended to be.
