A Warsaw woman is facing a Level 3 aggravated battery charge after allegedly hitting a man in the head with a space heater. Kyla R. Kilpatrick, 21, of 1210 Hill Top Ave., #4, Warsaw, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 6:28 p.m. Monday and faces a Level 3 felony aggravated battery charge. According to the probable cause affidavit filed Wednesday in Kosciusko Superior Court I, on Monday Warsaw police responded to a home in reference to a family fight. Upon arrival, police found a male victim sitting inside the front door of the apartment with blood covering the left side of his face, along with bleeding from the top of his head where a large cut was located. Another person in the home, according to court papers, told police that Kilpatrick had struck the man in the head several times with a space heater and that Kilpatrick is autistic and has trouble controlling her anger. The victim was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, where police reported they were told the man was in critical condition and required intubation. Kilpatrick’s bond was set at $10,250.
