This morning at Madison Elementary School, the Air Force Association presented Principal Ben Barkey with a framed citation from Vice President Mike Pence. Barkey was named the 2017 National AFA Teacher of the Year. In part, Pence’s citation says, “As an educator in the Warsaw Community Schools, you have served with distinction, inspiring Indiana’s children to seek learning in science, technology, engineering and math. I applaud your hard work blazing new trails in education, and I look forward to seeing how you and your students will unlock new opportunities for America’s future.” Barkey also received a letter of congratulations from State Rep. Curt Nisly.
