PIERCETON – Barbara Joan Sylvester, 74, Pierceton, passed away at 10 a.m.  Jan. 22, 2016, in her residence.
She was born June 23, 1941, in Pierceton, to Jim and Emma Bell Elder Slusher. On Nov. 19, 1962, in Pierceton, she was united in marriage to Estle Sylvester, who survives. They were married 50 years.
She was a lifetime resident of Pierceton. She graduated from Pierceton High School with the Class of 1959. She loved to bake and take care of her grandchildren, attending all of their sporting events and functions. She loved to visit the oceans and travel. She was a giving person and was a wonderful wife and a great mother and grandmother.
Also surviving are two children, Tim (and spouse Stacy) Sylvester, Pierceton, and Kim (and spouse Roby) Potter, Akron; five grandchildren: Austin and Micaela Sylvester and Jace, Jalea and Payton Potter; and her brother, Raymond (and spouse Betty) Slusher, Pierceton. She was preceded in death by her mom and dad and three brothers, Dick, John and Rex Slusher.
A celebration of life service and burial will be held at a later date.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, is entrusted with the arrangements.
