NAPPANEE - Barbara Jane "Barb" Lentz, 76, Nappannee, died at 5:45 a.m. Dec. 4, 2010, at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa.

She was born Jan. 4, 1934, in Des Plaines, Ill., to Harry Frank and Cecelia Maude Leake. In Des Plaines, Ill, she married Dr. Jerry Lentz, who survives.

She was a graduate of Maine Township High School, Des Plaines, and graduated from Indiana University. She was a homemaker. In the 1990s, she was co-owner of Hen Haus Antiques, Nappanee. She also worked for Oaklawn Services, Elkhart, for several years. She had been a Sunday school teacher and was a active group leader with the Cub Scouts and Camp Fire Girls.

Also surviving are two sons, Stephen (and spouse Leigh Ann) Lentz, Aliso Viejo, Calif., and David (and spouse Andrea) Lentz, West Chester, Ohio; two daughters, Susan (and spouse Steve) Wagoner, Oakton, Va., and Karen (and spouse Dave) McClellan, Aurora, Ohio; nine grandchildren; a brother, Richard Lowe; a sister, Maryjeanne Jennison. She was preceded in death by a sister.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Dave McClellan and the Rev. Janet McFall-Brown officiating. Burial will be at South Union Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
