SYRACUSE – Barbara Hamman, 61, Leesburg, went to be with God and her parents in heaven at noon Nov. 12, 2014. She was born Nov. 18, 1952, in Warsaw, to Robert and Esther Davis English. She was married to Jeff Hamman Sr., who survives in Leesburg. She was a 1971 Pierceton High School graduate, and she received a degree in deaf education from Ball State University. She spent most of this summer in Lutheran Hospital with congestive heart failure. Finally, she went home to rest and enjoy the fall weather from inside, looking at the beautiful view from their lovely home with Jeff and many of her dear friends and family who visited often. All of her friends and family were there to celebrate her 62nd birthday early. They sang “You Are My Sunshine” to her as she came into the room, and later “Happy Birthday” as they gathered around her. “She has always been a sweet, innocent, child of God with a loving heart and pure soul. She was and always will be our ‘Sunshine,’ and we will love her and remember her sweet smile forever. We miss you, Barbie.” Also surviving are a son, Jeff Hamman Jr., Leesburg; three sisters: Anita (and spouse Jeff) Land, Indianapolis; Janet (and spouse Carl) English-Young, Corvallis, Ore.; and Carol (and spouse Gary) Robbins, Pierceton; one brother, David (and spouse Christ) English, Pierceton; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eastlund Funeral Home, 7458 E. CR 1000N, Syracuse, with Pastor Myron Drent officiating. Burial is in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton. Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials to Kosciusko County home Health Care and Hospice.
