AWL Looking For Home For Dog That’s Been Sheltered Over 429 Days

AWL Looking For Home For Dog That’s Been Sheltered Over 429 DaysThe Animal Welfare League is hoping to find a home for a dog named Onyx that’s been at the shelter for over 429 days.

Before Onyx arrived at the AWL, she was a long-term guest at the Kokomo Humane Shelter. She transferred to the AWL on an exchange program to give her a brand-new look in a brand-new community.

AWL does not euthanize pets for space or for being a long-term guest like Onyx. They are doing all they can to find Onyx a forever home, but she keeps keeping overlooked.

A “kind and wonderful lady” has already paid Onyx’s adoption fee, according to a news release from AWL, so Onyx is free to a qualified applicant. When AWL adopts out pets, they want to ensure the pets are going to a home that will meet all their needs.

Onyx is 8 years old, an indoor girl and a “total sweetheart,” the release states. Even though she’s an older gal, she still has plenty of energy and still acts like a puppy. She can be shy around strangers.

To find out more about Onyx, go to awlwarsaw.com and look her up.

“It would really be great if you would just come to the shelter and talk to Brooke,” the release states. She will introduce you and Onyx so you can spend some quality time together.
