Apology

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

My name is Christopher Creekmore and I am writing this letter to the people of Warsaw and the surrounding communities.

The primary reason for this letter is to express a long overdue apology to the people for my actions and behavior. I have abused and shown no regard for the law, trust and dignity that people are extended in the community each and every day.

I have no excuse for my own selfishness and personal agenda. For a long time I placed blame on the community for how my life was lived and believed I was a product of my environment. But, the truth is that my environment was a product of me and I am to blame for the decisions I was making. Sometimes people must grow up the hard way; I was one of those people.

I am genuinely sorry for the trouble I have caused to those with whom I have come in contact. Not once, twice, but three times, I have been to prison. It took three times for me to realize that I had a lot of work I found necessary to truly change. I took for granted that someone was to take me aside and explain these things to me, someone to mentor me. I learned a hard lesson, one that I pray that others will not have to learn as I have.

I owe a lot of people money for my actions and I will repay every one of you in due time. It may not happen overnight, but it will happen. All I can ask of you is that you accept my apology, as I am extending it. Should you choose not to forgive me, then that is on you, I have done my part. I am and have almost served a prison sentence for my actions and I have asked for your forgiveness. There is nothing more I can do. I am placing the past in the past and moving on with my life. I'm sorry and thank you.
