Animal Welfare League Open House For The Cat House Is Saturday

PIERCETON - Join the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for an open house with tours of The Cat House located on the campus of The Animal Welfare League at 1048 S. 325 E., Pierceton.
What started as a dream for Board Member Dr. Carla Carlton, DVM, and Executive Director Tonya Blanchard is now a reality. In early 2021, Carlton began raising money for a feline-only shelter in a remodel of the existing building that was on the property when it was purchased.
AWL provides housing for a very large and ever-growing population of unwanted cats.
The new facility provides quiet, stress-free indoor areas with many windows for sunlight and fresh air. There are newly renovated rooms for intake, free roaming, medical and a relaxed interaction area for those hoping to adopt.
