Ancil “Mac” McCartney, 72, Indianapolis and formerly of Warsaw, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Dec. 15, 2014, in Kindred Healthcare, Greenwood. He was born Oct. 18, 1942, in Webster Springs, W. Va., to Hubert and Reesa McCartney. On June 19, 1966, in Lisbon, he married Nancy Allmon, who survives in Indianapolis. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. He was a former member of the American Legion Post #49, Warsaw. In his younger days, he enjoyed golf, hunting and especially fishing. He was a loyal Chicago Bears fan. Also surviving are two sons, John McCartney, Indianapolis, and Jim (and spouse Roxie) McCartney, Edinburgh; a daughter, Teresa (and spouse Carl) Howard, Indianapolis; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Wolfe, East Liverpool, Ohio; two brothers, Bill McCartney, Webster Springs, W.Va., and Kenny McCartney, Florida. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Palestine Cemetery with Pastor Jack Worth, Dutchtown Brethren Church, Warsaw, officiating.
