Alma Wadkins

Alma Wadkins, 87, Mentone, passed away Oct. 10, 2014, at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
She was born Feb. 27, 1927, in Floyd County, Ky., to Dick and Ellen Brown Robinson. On July 3, 1946, in Floyd County, she married George Wadkins Sr., a World War II veteran, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle, Claypool, since 1972. Family and friends were very important to her. Having all of her family together was one of her greatest joys. She was very proud of her southern heritage and was something that she spoke of often. She taught her family strong values and the importance of God. One of her favorite past times was watching the birds outside her window. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Surviving are five children: Maggie Gang, Mentone; Mary Alice (and spouse Delmar) Estep, Claypool; Billy Ray (and spouse Donna) Wadkins, Silver Lake; Jerry G. (and spouse Regina) Wadkins, Kimmel; and Judy (and spouse Mark) Fenton, Warsaw; a sister, Ida Mae Dotson, Mentone; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; three sisters; three sons, George Jr., James E. and Charles M. Wadkins; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastors Paul Copeland and William Whitaker officiating. Burial is in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
