All Apologies

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

Approximately 18 months ago, I was arrested for possession and dealing cocaine, and my name was put on the front page of the Times-Union.

I know that I genuinely offended, disappointed and hurt a lot of friends, business associates, my family and most of all, God. I have been ashamed, embarrassed and angry with myself for these bad decisions.

Although I was going through an enormous burden of personal issues, turning to drugs was wrong. I wish I was smart enough to have sought out support of friends and family instead. I humbly apologize, and I am sincerely sorry for the confusion I may have caused those who knew my family.

To all who knew me and trusted my judgment, and to my family with whom things will never be the same: Please forgive me, or at least be kind to the rest of my family who made no mistake in the matter. I am working hard to show everyone I have mentioned that their earlier trust was not wasted. I am a man of integrity with love for my family and God. I fault no one other than myself for my actions. Any blame rests squarely on my shoulders, and I have accepted that. I do want it known publicly that I never sold drugs to anyone - ever. My destructive actions were only toward myself.

Thank you for taking the time to ready my apology. I do not expect forgiveness, but I felt that an apology was the right thing to do.
