MENTONE - Aleta F. Long, 91, of 659 S. CR 950W, Etna Green, died at 8:40 a.m. Dec. 26, 2009, at Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw, where she resided for the past three years.
She was born June 13, 1918, in Pierceton, to Jacob and Thelma Thomas Hight. On Nov. 26, 1935, in Etna Green, she married Ralph J. Long, who died Jan. 12, 1998.
She was a homemaker and a lifetime area resident. She was a member of Etna Green Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school classes, sang in the church choir and was a member of the Dorcas Missionary Society. She was also a past member of the ONO Club.
Surviving are three daughters: Barbara (and spouse Robert) McQuinn, Forest; LuAnn Wiseman, Marcellus, Mich.; and Linda (and spouse Max) Flenar, Etna Green; two sons, Larry (and spouse Mary Ellen) Long, Warsaw, and Robert (and spouse Judy) Long, Milford; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Hazel "Skip" Ewing, Etna Green. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Stouder.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Etna Green Church of Christ, Etna Green, with Pastor Jordan Ickes. Burial will be in Etna Green Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
