Editor, Times-Union: Stonehenge Golf Club hosted the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) golf tournament June 23-25. There were 138 golfers from five different countries and from California to New Jersey. These 12- to 15-year-old boys and girls are some of the best young golfers in the world. Some alumni of the tour are Tiger Woods and Phil Michelson. The economic impact to the city had to be significant as some parents had to stay in Columbia City. Where was the Times-Union? Certainly an event of this caliber would warrant an article, picture, or some publicity. I saw nothing. There were even players from Warsaw. My wife and I spent three days volunteering as timers. It was a real experience to see how well these future collegiate and maybe even PGA-LPGA tour players hit the ball. AJGA is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. They will conduct over 100 events during the summer. It was a pleasure to see these young people and parents pass by and say thank you for volunteering. It made it all worthwhile. James L.
