NORTH MANCHESTER – Agatha K. Hippensteel, 95, of North Manchester, went home to be with the Lord at 6:20 p.m. June 25, 2012, in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

She was born Sept. 8, 1916, in Wabash County, to Otto P. and Mabel E. Wall Young. On Jan. 1, 1938, she married John E. Hippensteel, who died April 7, 2005.

She graduated from Chester High School in 1934. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Central Christian Church, Huntington.

Surviving are two sons, Billy E. (and spouse Beverly) Hippensteel, Huntington, and Robert H. (and spouse Oris) Hippensteel, North Manchester; a daughter, Carolyn E. (and spouse Jerry) Hoover, Marion; a brother, Garl “Pete” Young, North Manchester; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Howard Young, and two sisters, Wanda Parr and Juanita Bechtold.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Peabody Chapel, 400 W. Seventh St., North Manchester, with Pastor Chris Hayden and the Rev. Sue Babovec officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, and one hour prior to services Friday at Peabody Chapel.
