Three people reported injuries after a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Warsaw.
According to a crash report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, at 3:24 p.m. Wednesday Ricki Antonucci, 28, Leesburg, was driving a black 2020 Ford Escape in the north turn lane facing east on East U.S. 30 at the intersection of South CR 325E, waiting to turn left (north). At the time, there was a semi-tractor-trailer sitting in the south turn lane facing west, waiting to turn left (south).
Antonucci stated she thought she could see all of the vehicles coming from behind the semi and thought it was safe to proceed. She proceeded north and drove into the path of a red 2016 Jeep Wrangler that was in the left lane (westbound), coming up alongside the semi.
William Grant, 45, Warsaw, the driver of the Jeep Wrangler, was westbound on U.S. 30, approaching CR 325E. The Ford Escape pulled into his path and he was unable to avoid a collision, the report states.
Antonucci complained of pain in her head but denied immediate medical attention at the scene.
Grant was treated and transported on the scene for a possible fracture to his left hand/wrist. A passenger in the Jeep Wrangler, Ashley S. Wells, 38, Pierceton, complained of pain in her chest and shoulder area and was taken to a local hospital for medical attention.
Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. Damage is estimated at $10,000 to $25,000, the report states.
