3 Injured, 1 Critically, In Thursday AccidentSYRACUSE – A North Webster woman is in critical condition and two others were injured after a two-vehicle collision Thursday night.
Amy Pavel, 23, was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, where she was listed in critical condition Friday night, according to a news release from Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. Chris Francis.
According to Turkey Creek Fire Chief Mickey Scott, the call came in at 5:57 p.m. Thursday.
Emergency crews were dispatched to east CR 800N, 300 feet east of North CR 550E, Syracuse, according to the release.
The incident involved an eastbound Toyota Camry, driven by Pavel, and a westbound Nissan Pathfinder, driven by Amy Hill, 45, North Webster.
The release states that, according to information gathered by investigating deputies, Pavel lost control of the Camry on the ice-covered roadway. The Camry crossed the center line of travel into the lane of the Pathfinder.
Pavel and Hill were extricated from their vehicles.
According to a KCSO accident report, Hill had minor bleeding to the face. A passenger in Hill’s vehicle, Amelia Hill, 7, North Webster, complained of neck pain. They were taken to Parkview Warsaw.
The estimated damage for the vehicles involved in the accident is $50,000-$100,000, according to the accident report.
The accident is under investigation by the Kosciusko County Fatal Team.
Assisting at the scene were the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, North Webster Police Department, Turkey Creek Fire Territory and North Webster/Tippecanoe Township Fire Department.
