3 Hurt In Intersection Crash WednesdayThree people were hurt – one critically – in a crash on Ind. 14 and Packerton Road during Wednesday evening’s commute.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and first responders were called at 5:37 p.m. Wednesday to the intersection of East Ind. 14 and South Packerton Road, Silver Lake, for a two-vehicle crash.

According to the crash report, Kenyan C. Bennett, 22, of East Clark Street, Warsaw, was driving a maroon 2000 Saturn car south on Packerton Road and stopped at the flashing stop light at the intersection.

Bennett then continued south into the westbound lane of Ind. 14 and was crashed into by a white 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, being driven by Dylan R. Prater, 21, of West Ind. 14, Silver Lake.

Bennett was flown by Parkview Air Ambulance to Fort Wayne for treatment of entire body injuries, according to the crash report.

Two passengers in Bennett’s vehicle – Dawn M. Justice, 21, of East Clark Street, Warsaw, and Jaine A. Reed, 18, of South Detroit Street, Warsaw – were treated by medics on scene for complaint of chest pain.

Prater was not injured.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to disabling damage, which is estimated to be between $10,000 and $25,000.
